Active Clubs

Rooted deep in a lifelong passion for working dogs and high-level bite sports, Barkside Bite Club was established to provide a dedicated, structured training hub for Mondioring enthusiasts in Southwestern Ontario. The club’s foundation draws heavily from traditional European working dog roots—spanning from hands-on experience in decoy work,  and dog development. We bring that directly to the Canadian sport community.

As an active affiliate of the Canada Mondioring Association, Barkside Bite Club is committed to expanding and strengthening the sport locally, fostering a culture of technical precision, sportsmanship, and deep handler education.

Oxford Working Dog Club was founded in 2015 as the first IGP Belgian Shepherd Club in Canada. Initially a member of the American Working Malinois Association (AWMA), it became the first member club of the Canadian Working Belgian Shepherd Association (CWBSA) when founded the following year. Since then, several members competed at the national and international level in IGP and IGP-FH Tracking. Our club embraced Mondioring training in 2024. Club member Ken Heald with his female Malinois Cache obtained their first MR 1 leg at the inaugural trial of the Canada Mondioring Association in 2025. Now with 2 more members training in Mondioring (Anthony with Pepi and Tracy with Iron), our club is looking forward to develop this new section, host events, and promote this amazing dog sport.

We’ve been doing French Ring since 2007 and Mondioring since 2025. The club president Geoff has titled 2 R3 Malinois Sasha and Phin, with Sasha becoming multi year Canadian R2 national champion and NARA eastern R2 champion and NARA R2 vice champion. His current competition female Malinois Royale is R2 who is working towards MR3 and FR3.

Vice President Zach is the club’s training engineer he currently is training his male Malinois Zeke towards his MR2 and FR2. Zach is currently a selected FR1 homme d’ attaque and is preparing towards his Mondioring HA and FR2 certification.

Many of the OWRD club’s members come from a variety of dog sport backgrounds. Including IGP, Flyball, PSA. Multiple junior members are learning to wear the bite suit. Our club members have a variety of different breeds of dogs from Staffordshire Terriers, GSDs, Malinois, Dutch Shepherds and Dobermans. From puppies to adult dogs.

The OWRD is looking forward to its club’s future with the sport.
